Thousands of people visit the island of Palawan every year to enjoy its white sand beaches, unspoiled caves, breathtaking system of waterfalls, and a foliage of green rainforests. With these wonders, most of the adventurers don’t pass up the chance to discover the island’s unblemished nature. A trek to Mount Victoria will give you a realization of how magnificent Palawan is.

Climbing Mount Victoria is a great adventure for many mountaineers. Victoria Peak and its twin peaks from the largest contiguous land area and second highest portion of the Mount Beaufort Ultramafics geological region is a series of ultramafic outcrops of Eocene origin that includes Palawan's highest peak, Mount Mantalingahan.

Rising beautifully in the rustic town of Narra, Victoria Peak is one of the unexplored and wild destinations, with its diverse flora and fauna. A spectacular rat-eating plant was discovered in the mountain, which creates a global sensation fro scientists and media alike. The plant was named Nepehenthes attenboroughii, and one of the species begins to be tattered in the mountain.

Trudging through Victoria Peak is well worth the effort as you get to see a firsthand view of the surrounding area from the summit. The trek is pleasurable as you get touch the mountain's hidden stream, lakes, waterfalls, and lagoons.

Safety: Mount Victoria offers a difficult climb for trekkers and a minimum of four days is spent before reaching the summit. It is not generally accessible to the public without special permission, owing to the difficulty of ascent; there is no route to the summit, and as such, it is necessary to ascend the mountain by walking up river-beds prone to flash flooding. Attempts to reach the peak have resulted in a number of deaths.

How to Get There?

From Manila – Puerto Princessa

Mount Victoria is located in the municipality of Narra, which can be reached via shuttle van from Puerto Princesa. Interested trekkers can then contact the Tourism Office of the local government of Narra, which can provide guides from among the Tagbanua tribe that live in the lowlands of the Mount Beaufort Ultramafics geological region.
