Overview

Mahabang Buhangin Beach is located in the town of San Juan, Batangas. It is one of the prides of the town, attracting visitors near and far. The name of the beach is literally derived from its characteristic, "Mahabang Buhanging" which means a "long stretch of sand". The beach is very pristine and beautiful, featuring white sand, crystal blue water, and a living colony of corals.

The area is not fully developed yet, so it is advisable to bring your own tents, food, and water. People can witness the stunning beauty of the sunset. It’s very romantic! It is also recommended that you camp for the night, bond with your family and friends around a bonfire, and count the zillions  of stars while lying on the sand. The area offers a very refreshing and rejuvenating atmosphere which makes it ideal for relaxation. It is a perfect place for everyone who wants to ease their stress from the busy city life.

How to Get There (from the San Juan Batangas Official Website)

Via Lipa City

1. From Manila, take the South Luzon Expressway all the way to Exit 50 (the Batangas, Lucena and Legaspi exit, the 2nd to the last exit). Drive 6.5 kms along this National Highway and turn right to the Star Toll Way entrance.

2. Drive 22 kms on the Star Toll Way (STAR) and take the Lipa-Tambo Exit (the 3rd exit). After exiting, turn right and drive towards Lipa City. La Salle Lipa and Robinson's Mall Lipa will be on your left side while a Petron gas station will be on your right.

3. You will encounter a forked road with a Mc Donald's Lipa City outlet, take the road on the right going towards the Lipa Cathedral, this is C.M. Recto Avenue. There is currently a road re-routing along this road, but you will still end up in C.M. Recto Avenue.

4. Traverse C.M. Recto Avenue until you see a Mercury Drug Store at a corner. Turn right at the corner, this is P. Torres Street.

5. On P. Torres Street, drive 8.5 kms towards Padre Garcia town. Make a left turn at the road sign pointing to Padre Garcia. Turn right after passing the Padre Garcia town market. Drive 4.5 kms and merge with the road coming from Rosario. This road leads all the way to San Juan which is approximately 19 kms. When you see the sign leading to the Batangas Racing Circuit veer left and head straight for San Juan proper. The first barangay after the boundary marker is Muzon. 6. After entering San Juan town proper, drive past the Dunkin Donut shop on your right and head for the Municipal Hall of San Juan. The right corner immediately after the Municipal Hall of San Juan is the main road to Laiya. You will drive approximately 25 kms (20 minutes) along this road.

Via Candelaria

2. Get off at Chow King right after the town proper of Candelaria.
