Overview

The Boso-Boso Church was established as a church mission by Jesuit priests in 17th century, in the patronage of Our Lady of Annunciation (Nuetra Señora de la Anunciata). It was the first Catholic church built in Antipolo. Its management was transferred to Secular priests in 1768. It was destroyed by an earthquake on June 18, 1880 and vacated in 1930 when the town was transferred to give way to the construction of a proposed dam. Then, the town was put back in place when the project did not prosper. The church was burned down in 1943 during World War II and turned into ruin. It was rebuilt to its original state in 1995 by the help of the patron’s devotees. The Boso-Boso Church stands amidst old stones, vines, and inspired nature landscaping.
