Through the years, the island of Boracay has been frequented by thousands of visitors coming from different places to witness its breathtaking view and experience the many exciting adventures that the island offers.

White Beach is one of the two primary tourism beaches of Boracay. It is about four kilometers long and is lined with resorts, hotels, lodging houses, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses.

In the central portion, for about two kilometers, there is a footpath known as the Beachfront Path separating the beach itself from the establishments located along it. North and south of the Beachfront Path, beachfront establishments do literally front along the beach itself. Several roads and paths connect the Beachfront Path with Boracay's Main Road, a vehicular road which runs the length of the island. At the extreme northern end of White Beach, a footpath runs around the headland there and connects White Beach with Diniwid Beach.

The island of Boracay resembeles a dog bone, and White Beach occupies the lower half of the island exclusing the sides. This section of Boracay is divided into three boat stations, segments of prime destinations and the places to find Boracay's top hotels and resorts. Here is some of the important information about the White Beach boat stations that may be helpful when visiting Boracay.

Boat Station 1:  Looking for the top Boracay hotels and resorts? Boat Station 1 is located on the leftmost part of White Beach, and some have said some of the first part to be commercialized.  One may find the more luxurious and upscale accomodations here.

Boat Station 2: Accomodating thousands of curious and adventurous visitors every day, Boat Station 2 is neatly placed at the center of the island and of White Beach.  This bustling section of the beach is the center of trade, liesure and activity, containing over a hundred establishments that offer food, souveniers, entertainment, refreshments, clothing, supplies, and a whole lot more. One feels a frantic but festive mood as people mingle, haggle, and shop at the many establishemnts here.

Boat Station 3: As arguably the most secluded part of White Beach near the island's rightmost side, Boat Station 3 was the last part of the beach to be developed.  It has been the favored destination of guests who willingly choose to avoid the crowds and take advantage of the less hectic and quieter atmosphere.  The establishments in this area cater more to the budget-conscious crowd although there are also businesses which choose to cater more to more affluent visitors.

Tips and Trips to Boracay

Boracay Island is separated from Panay Island by a narrow strait. The island is located opposite the Barangay of Caticlan in the municipality of Malay, Aklan. Transportation across the strait is provided by boats operating from the Caticlan jetty port.

By air: Boracay is served by two airports in Aklan province: one in Kalibo and Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (commonly referred to as "Caticlan airport") in Malay.

By sea: The western part of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway (SRNH) passes through Caticlan, with car ferries from Roxas, Oriental Mindoro docking at the Caticlan jetty port. Several bus companies operate provincial bus routes from Manila which pass through Caticlan via the SRNH.

Getting Around

The two main modes of transport are via motor-tricycles along the main road or by walking along the beaches. Pedicabs are also available for transport along the Beachfront Path. Other means of transportation include mountain bikes, quadbikes and motorbikes, all of which can be rented.
