Iwahig River also known as Balsahan River is one of the watersheds of Palawan. The river is a good destination to feel and breathe the fresh air because of its clean and fresh waters. Located in the Iwahig Penal Colony, Balsahan River is a favorite destination of tourists who want to have a different commune with nature. It has a man-made pool and cottages for picnics are available nearby.

One attraction is the line of acacia trees believed to be more than 200 years old. The management of Iwahig Penal colony exerts the best efforts to protect and preserve this line of trees that provide shade to tourists. Pebbles and rocks around the area are worth discovering and learning about.

Iwahig Penal Farm allows visitors to stay in the area only until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Make sure that you explore and enjoy Balsahan River to the fullest.
