Vigattin Radio once again provided us an interesting episode last Saturday. With anchors Den Macaranas, Elison Barcelo and blogcaster Ross del Rosario of Wazzup Pilipinas, Vigattin Radio invited technology enthusiasts and corporate practitioners to discuss the current state of entrepreneurship in the Philippines.

Their esteemed guests were Earl Martin Valencia-President and Co-founder of Ideaspace Philippines, American expatriate and philanthropist Bryan Gallinger of Iron Sharpens Iron, technopreneur Oliver Segovia-CEO and founder of AVA Online Group and business blogger Alvin Laurente of www.alvinlaurente.com

Mr. Bryan Gallinger was the first one to talk on Vigattin Radio. He discussed Iron Sharpens Iron (ISI), a private social networking group composed of entrepreneurs, professionals and artists around Metro Manila.  ISI also produces events that include professional business seminars and workshops.

Mr. Laurente then discussed about franchising and the current trends that Filipinos can adopt. He also told Vigattin Radio that his website, www.alvinlaurente.com, gives an opportunity to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups to have a presence online by posting their business profiles and announcements on his website.


Afterwards, Mr. Valencia told Vigattin Radio about the latest insights of technopreneurship in the Philippines. He is the Co-Founder and President of Ideaspace Foundation, Inc. (a Philippine-based incubator and accelerator), he also serves as the Vice-President and Head of Corporate Development and Innovation at Smart Communications, Inc.

Later on, Mr. Oliver Segovia of www.ava.ph talked about his views of integrating entrepreneurship in the current educational program of the Philippines. For him, empowering the middle class is very important because they are needed to contribute to the improvement of the Philippine economy.
