Clarin Panorama

Unknown to many Filipinos, Bohol is dotted with different spectacular towns which showcase the rich and well-preserved history and culture of the province. Clarin is one of its most beautiful towns that continue to attract visitors because of the many amazing natural wonders that cannot be found anywhere else.

An emerging tourist stop in Northeastern Bohol, Clarin is abundantly blessed with natural beauty and with beautiful people. It is a thriving coastal town where fishing is one of the main livelihoods of the people. The “Takla”, a species of crayfish, abounds in its coast.

Among the town’s natural assets, Binaliw Falls, is a truly a sight to behold. A 500-meter adventure trek to its main falls rewards adventurous souls with the sight of roots hanging directly over the water, huge boulders intricately carved by the wind and rushing water of the falls. It also offers a glimpse of a cave that leads to the neighboring town of Inabanga, as well as the splendor of the powerful hidden falls. Located in Barangay Cantoyoc, the falls is about 10 minutes away by car from the port of Clarin.

Not far from the falls is the Bogtongbod Caves. These natural rock formations are majestic and will awe visitors with its beautiful crystalline stalactites and stalagmites and would be a great haven for spelunkers and adventurers alike.

A few meters from this is the Tangub Spring, a natural fountain with cool, clean water and surrounding lush flora that refresh guests’ bodies and minds.

On the trip back from the caves to Clarin, one could appreciate the arresting view offered by a stop at the Tontonan Heights of the town of Clarin below of the island of Cebu across the sea and of several islands in between.

Nearest to the town’s center is the Clarin Boardwalk. Here, one can appreciate several species of birds, go fishing, or hop in a banca and go snorkeling in nearby Majigpit Island, a fish sanctuary.
