Vigattin Radio on Ethical Hacking

It's the first Saturday of March 2013 and we have five guests in our Vigattin Radio Program. With a common background in web security and ethical hacking, these five guys with high calibre profiles gathered in this week's episode. They were Mr. Xander Solis, an Information Security Professional; Mr. Dennis Sanches, Microsoft Certified Trainer and EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker; Mr. Robertson Chiang, COO/CTO of Dragonpay Corp.; Mr. James Agawa, a web developer for 7 years now; and Mr. James Pineda, an Information Security Analyst.

Discussing ethical hacking is an eye-opener today because with regards to the connotation that hackers are the bad guys, our guests made it clear that there are hackers who really help in IT operations. Ethical hackers are needed in searching for loopholes and weaknesses in a system, patch these up, and strengthen the system's security. One good example where hackers play a big role is the online banking system, online payments, and the police's intelligence database. Penetration testers and IT security analysts are needed in these sectors to ensure the safety of information being transmitted over different media. Mr. Chiang, being the Chief Technical Officer of Dragonpay Corp., has first-hand experience in putting up security in online payment gateways.

Programmers and web developers can now enroll in training courses like ethical hacking, digital forensics, and penetration testing in IT training firms like Global Knowledge Philippines. They offer a wide range of certification courses where IT professionals can further their learning and expertise. End users, on the other hand, should practice utmost care when going online. Privacy protection should be prioritized in today's digital world.

Of course, even though computer systems seem infallible and flawless, much of the security we're talking about lies in the user's hands. Quoting Mr. Chiang, "There is no enough firewall for human stupidity." So, be warned. Be informed!
