We had a very interesting discussion about mobile applications, the IT curriculum, and Mathrix Education today in our Vigattin Radio Program. We were joined by Prof. Arne Barcelo of UST as the newest Vigattin Radio co-anchor. Our guests were Prof. Rhea-Luz Valbuena of Asia Pacific College, Mr. Florence Sangrenes of Mathrix Education, and Michael John Peña of UST. Dr. Dave Marcial, this year's PSITE convention chair, updated us about the 3-day national convention of PSITE held in Crown Regency Residences, Cebu. Celebrating its 15th foundation year, PSITE has envisioned a very promising future ahead, with its growing institutional and industry partners. As a future partner of PSITE, Vigattin Inc. is also looking forward to the programs and advocacy of this wonderful organization.

Mr. Florence Sangrenes also inspired us with his business, Mathrix Education, because of its very innnovative concept of teaching students and even professionals. Prof. Rhea-Luz Valbuena and Michael John Peña talked about IT in the academe. The Information Technology and Computer Science programs in Asia Pacific College offer a very relevant curriculum following the demands of the industry. The IT curriculum is reviewed and redesigned every year to give way to trending and emerging technologies in the market. Speaking of trending, mobile applications are hot nowadays. Michael John Peña, a graduating IT student of UST, shared his knowledge on mobile applications to motivate his fellow students to enhance and improve their skills in this niche. Michael developed a mobile app called Philippine Taxi and won the MyPhone Mobile App Challenge during the UST Engineering Week held last week.
