The October 18 episode of Vigattin Radio was dedicated for the Muslim Community as they discussed the seminar that will be hold by our Muslim brothers called “Democracy, Human Rights and Islam: Pathway to Peace for the Philippines” at Makati Shangri-La Hotel [Mandaluyong Function Hall].

Vigattin radio’s co-anchors Mr. Den Macaranas, Ms. Arne Barcelo, Mr. Elison Barcelo and blogcaster Mr. Ross del Rosario of Wazzup Pilipinas, were joined by Mr. Abdul Mukhlis—the regular speaker for the annual convention Jalsa Salana (Ahamdiyya Philippines).

He is also an author of Muslim books titled In Panghindu’ Namu’  (Our Teachings in Tausug Language 20121) and Ahmadiyya Daraugan Sin Islam (Tausug Brochure).

Mr. Abdul talked about the topics that they are going to discuss at the seminar. Among the highlights of the seminar that they will talk is the Bangsamoro Basic Law. Its filing in the congress has taken the peace process on a new momentum.  They will converse about the future of Bangsamoro and how it will ensure the Muslim identity of its constituents.

The seminar is to address some key principles from within the discourse with respect to pluralism and secularism that can further shape the transition to lasting peace in the Philippines.

Dr. Iftikhar Ayaz, OBE, PhD, is the keynote speaker of the seminar. He is the Vice President of the Pacific Peace Forum, Senator of the World Nations Congress, and member of the UN Working Group for the Rights of Minorities. He also worked with different organizations of the United Nations such as FAO, UNESCO and UNDP.
