Once again Vigattin Radio provided us a compelling an insightful episode last Saturday with co-anchors Den Macaranas, Arne Barcelo, Elison Barcelo and blogcaster Ross del Rosario. Their esteemed guests are from TXT Fire, SALT and students from UP Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute.

The first one to talk on Vigattin Radio was Gerry Chua of TXT Fire and Eng Bee Tin (a food stall selling Oriental delicacies). He was interviewed over the phone in which he discussed the history of Mooncake Festival and on how to prepare mooncakes. He also talked about their shop’s bestsellers which includes hopia and tikoy.

Mr. Chua is the Founder and President of TXTFIRE Philippines Foundation Inc., the foundation that handles UBE News or TXT FIRE. It is the world’s first free dispatch system send through sms. They also conduct relief operations, fire safety drills, outreach programs, medical missions and seminars.

Later on, Raphael Mejino, the Chief Financial Officer of SALT (sustainable alternative lighting) discussed their salt water lamp product on Vigattin Radio. This is his second time on Vigattin Radio where he already guested before when SALT was still a contender for Ideaspace’s annual competition.

Their company is the first one to develop a cost effective ecologically designed lamp that is powered by “tap water” and “table salt” which is the reason why they became part of the ten startups that won the 2014 Ideaspace competition. They received an early-stage funding worth at least P1 million.

Afterwards, the Synergy Steering Committee from UP Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute talked about the upcoming Synergy: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Summit. It is a four-day gathering of students in courses related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Synergy: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Summit is composed of five major events, specifically, Techno Talk, Ingenious Ideas, Revolutionary Robotics, Dynamic Discourse, and Corporate Connection. It will be held in UP Diliman on November 19, 20, 21, and 22.

The show then ended with a great deal of information learned from the anchors and guests. For more interesting discussion, tune in every Saturday from 10 to 11 am at Radyo Inquirer DZIQ 990 AM.
