The city's seaside promenade is the most visited, especially at nighttime.

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Baybay, Leyte
by Jane Dacumos on July 31, 2012Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church is an example of a Spanish-era structure constructed in 1852 by Fr. Vicente E. Cronado and continued by Maestro Proceso who came from Manila to finish the work. It was gutted by fire in 1866 except for the Holy Cross Chapel. The church was finally finished in 1870 after Capitan Mateo Espinoso, a sculptor and painter of renown, put on the finishing touches. The altar and the rails as they stand today are a credit to his genius.

Sto. Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum

There are ecclesiastical antiques and art collections assembled by native daughter Mrs. Imelda Marcos. There are also some decorative arts from France, Italy, and Germany.

Sangyaw Festival

Lake Danao: A Guitar-shaped Lake of Leyte

It is situated in the 2,193 hectares (5,420 acres) Lake Danao National Park, which also includes the Amandiwin mountain range. The lake is 18 kilometers (11 mi) northeast of Ormoc City, half an hour drive along the San Pablo-Tongonan and Milagro-Lake Danao roads.
