It is one of the largest SM Supermalls developed and operated by SM Prime Holdings, the largest mall operator in the Philippines owned by Henry Sy Sr. The mall has two buildings interconnected with a bridge. The mall occupies a land area of approximately 21 hectares and has a total floor area of an estimated 392,000 m2 (4,220,000 sq ft), making it the second largest shopping mall in the country surpassing SM Mall of Asia by 2,000 m2 (22,000 sq ft) The mall has a maximum capacity of 4 million people. It is as large as the Changi Airport Terminal 2 in Singapore.

SM Supermalls, owned by SM Prime Holdings, Inc., is a chain of shopping malls in the Philippines. As of now, there are 43 malls located across the Philippines as well as branches in China. The company that operates the malls was started by Henry Sy, Sr. in 1958 as Shoemart, with a store in Manila. In the 1960s, Shoemart expands its shoe store chain. It is one of the pioneers in the new urban centers in Makati and Cubao.
