It is one of the oldest stock exchanges in Southeast Asia, having been in continuous operation since its inception in 1927. It currently maintains two trading floors, one at its headquarters in the Philippine Stock Exchange Centre (formerly Tektite Towers), Ortigas Center in Pasig City, and one at the Ayala Tower One in Makati City's Central Business District. The PSE is composed of a 15-man Board of Directors, chaired by José T. Pardo.

It is owned and developed by KSA Realty Corporation, a joint venture between the Kuok Group (majority shareholder), ING, and A. Soriano Corporation (ANSCOR). It stands at 171.9 metres (564 feet) and currently the 20th tallest building in the Philippines. The building is the taller of two buildings comprising The Enterprise Center.
