Dead Forest: The Sunken Forest of Boracay

The Dead Forest, also known as Sunken Forest, is a unique attraction that can be found in Boracay. The forest is located at the tip of Bulabag Beach, Malay, Aklan. It is very accessible by walking straight ahead along the beach. In the past, the forest was said to be an otherwise normal patch of mangrove trees; however, an incident when the area flooded over with seawater when a dam broke had made this part of Boracay into its present state. Only darkened and rotten stumps and gnarled roots remain.
