Alta Pampanga Resto Bar and Cafe

on May 27, 2015

It was Sunday afternoon when my better half and I went to Angeles City to taste the specialty of the newly opened restaurant located at the Penthouse, GELDC Building 718, Sto. Rosario Street, Sto. Domingo, Angeles City, Pampanga. It was named ALTA PAMPANGA RESTO BAR AND CAFE which has the fusion of East Asian, Mediterranean and Kapampangan Gastronomy.

We travelled from Manila to the said place for an hour; there was a feeling of excitement on my part because for the first time I will have the chance to visit the place which insists to give us a gastronomic fusion of Kapampangan flavours.

According to the American historian John Larkin noted that the Kapampangan cuisine is noticeably different from that of other groups in the Philippines, having many similarities with that of East Asian as well as hints of Spanish, French, neighbouring Southeast Asian cuisine and even Meso-American tastes. Kitchens are also traditionally bigger and more widely used in the Kapampangan household.

We arrived at exactly 4:30 in the afternoon; I was fascinated with the entire building. From the structure down to the materials used was so superb and elegant. The place gives off quite the modern culture feel – with its overall classic brown look which imparts the message that everyone is indeed welcome to Alta Pampanga. I was even reminded of the high end hotels here in Manila because of its modern interior designs. The place is perfect for other businesses like the rampant PBO, Bank offices and ATMs, Technical Schools, Function Hall and even hotels.

Alta Pampanga showcases the popular Kapampangan dishes which claim to have won over the Filipino palate all across the country, namely, the original sisig, their native pindang as well as native longanisa. Whether you want to try something different or something which shouts out Pampanga’s identity in a bite, they pretty much have it here. As said earlier its menu also doesn’t limit the tastes and is vast in culture indeed as proven by the fact that it offers dishes like Grilled Pork Ribs, Crusted Parmesan Fish Fillet, Samgyupsal Cabalen, Seafood Ramen, Ensaladang Paku, Mesclun Green with Grilled Prawns.

They also have a selection of desserts like Buko Pandan Salad, Alwalu-ning-Bamban, Sans Rival de Bacolor, Sanikulas Cookies, Culiat Leche Flan as well as gives you your choice beverages like Cafe Espresso/Blanca/Gugulisak and Fresh Ginilu, Soda, even the more adult beer, wine and whiskey.

“Experience good food and fine entertainment ambience, an urban lifestyle with a blend of culture only at Alta Pampanga. Salangi ta na!”
